With over 16 years’ experience as a mining engineer in the South African Gold and Platinum mining industry, Gwilym’s previous appointments in the Insurance/Risk Management world include Divisional Director at Marsh SA, and Managing Director at Aon Risk Management, Botswana, when he served simultaneously as Chairman of the Aon Africa Risk Managers’ Forum.

He has a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Wales, and holds a South African Mine Manager’s Government Certificate of Competency in Metalliferous Mining.  

Gwilym is a Member of the South African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (SAIMM), and a Member of the Institute of Risk Managers (SA) (IRMSA).  In 2022 Gwilym was elected to serve on the North West Provincial Council of SAIMM.

Gwilym’s interests inevitably gravitate to anything with an engine, including fast cars, motorcycles and snow mobiles.
