IMIU International Mining Industry Underwriters specialises in providing insurance products for property, business interruption, and construction risks to mining companies around the world.
Originally established in 1995 by Patrick Plaisted, IMIU from the start was founded on the principal that this difficult and highly volatile class of business could only be successfully underwritten on the basis of good technical information. With this in mind risk engineering has been at the heart of everything we do. Our team of highly experienced risk engineers, all of whom have had long and successful careers within the mining industry, have earned a global reputation for the quality of their engineering and the risk improvement measures that they are able to identify for the benefit of our clients.
Since 1995 IMIU has established itself as one of the leading global insurers/reinsurers for the mining industry. Our underwriters are recognised authorities on the subject of mining insurance which coupled with the in-depth industry experience of our engineers, enables IMIU to develop bespoke insurance solutions for our clients.
