Coen joined IMIU in November 2015 as a Principal Risk Engineer. He is an experienced and qualified mining engineer with 25 years’ experience in operations, technical and commercial roles in the mining industry. He has spent most of his engineering career largely working for two well-known mining companies: Rio Tinto and BHP Billiton.

Coen is a Dutch citizen. His hobbies are varied but include cycling, travel, skiing and fencing. He also enjoys sailing and enjoys the opportunity of sailing on his friend’s boat in the Solent. Some day he hopes to sail round the treacherous Cape Horn which will be quite a challenge, or alternatively enjoy the sun, food and wine whilst sailing around the Med!

In 2022, Coen transitioned to become a consultant to IMIU to enable him to spend more time with his family.
