Lane has over 23 years of experience in the mining/risk engineering industry, having spent the previous nine years on active US Navy service, as an officer in the nuclear submarine force.

Bozeman Montana, USA (otherwise known as ‘Big Sky Country’) runs deep in Lane’s blood. His ancestors settled here in the 1890s.

Lane is married and father of three hardworking daughters.  When he does have spare time, his leisure activities include outdoor sports: downhill skiing, road cycling, mountain biking, camping, boating, and using his John Deere tractor.  Lane is also a football fanatic (not the American type), following the English Premier League, EUFA Champions League and FIFA World Cup.  At home he will occasionally play the game on a horse pasture turned into football pitch.
